Book Review: Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook

This book is amazing! Any home-style, stick to your ribs comfort dish you can think of is made over in this book! Each recipe features a color image and nutrition facts. The front of the book also contain tips for eating healthy and balancing your diet, fitness tips, and 6 weeks worth of meal plans. Best of all, the recipes found in this cookbook contain ingredients you most likely already have sitting in your pantry. You aren't going to have to go searching online or in specialty grocery stores for expensive, out of the ordinary ingredients! The book is divided in the following fashion:

Snacks:
Contains recipes like herbed tortilla chips, fresh strawberry smoothies, veggie tortilla pin wheels, Parmesan garlic popcorn, and more.

Breakfast:
Recipes such as sweet berry bruschetta, savory apple chicken sausage, overnight yeast waffles, chocolate chip banana muffins, poppy seed doughnuts, strawberry crepes, and more.

Lunches:
Includes recipes like zucchini tomato soup, pizza pockets, turkey chili, zest sloppy Joe's, creamy wild rice soup, taco salad wraps, ranch chicken salad sandwich, chicken and dumpling soup, shredded beef, and more.

Dinners:
Featuring recipes for balsamic-seasoned steak, chicken marsala, peppery roast beef, tenderloin with herb sauce, gingered pepper steak, spinach and mushroom smothered chicken, lime chicken tacos, rosemary turkey breast, black bean and rice enchiladas, and so much more.

Side Dishes:
Contains recipes for Parmesan tomatoes, savory green beans, vegetable slaw, Spanish rice, Cajun buttered corn, stuffed potato skins, oven fries, barbequed potato wedges, cranberry cornmeal dressing, and more.

Desserts:
Recipes for granola biscotti, watermelon berry sorbet, cappuccino truffles, blonde brownies, granola fudge clusters, double chocolate cupcakes, caramel toffee ice cream pie, tiramisu parfaits, and more.

Bottom line: I love this book! I purchased it from Amazon about a year ago and it has become my go to book when I'm craving something healthy yet hearty, especially in the winter. Its full of so many great sandwich and soup recipes.
